A nice little add-hoc video clip of the shelf at the Kings Head.
With me getting a bit Jules Hollandish on the piano. Dave Grigg is deputizing on bass in this video.

My old school has a website::
I discovered this quite by chance as one of my old teachers Edmund Hodges  had sent me a message on Friends Reunited.
“Welcome to the Elliottonian Web Site. This site is here to complement the Elliott School’s ‘E Group’ and for the enjoyment of anyone associated with the school. This may include Teachers, Pupils and Staff, both present and past. Although the Elliott School has been located at Putney for over fifty years, its roots lay at Southfields and are over a hundred years old.

We have resisted the temptation to present a ‘flashy’ web site, opting instead for an easy to follow, link driven layout. Below you will find links to the relevant sections of the site, these may be further divided depending on content. Remember, it will only grow if people are prepared to contribute their interesting pictures and recollections”.
Suddenly I am struck nostalgic: I remember traveling in these often when I was growing up though I seem to recall them as always being gray or black. Quite comfortable but very, very slow. Especially up hill.
Much of the music that I enjoy playing comes from this era or well before it, possibly because it was a less instant time though many things were much more difficult to achieve. The sounds and the smells and the rumbling as we jogged along and every journey took a very long time indeed. Now because of increased traffic journey times our average speeds are back to those of the Ford Pop era or slower in some cases. The girl in the picture is no doubt considering if she should buy the horse as it is potentially a faster means of transport.
