\u200bWell now, our week of French gigs went fairly well and was a pleasant change with the weather being bright and pleasant and mostly warm enough. I looked forward to the break as I have a been a bit below par mental health-wise and it had\u00a0made me feel a bit more on track again. As you would expect driving back from our first gig on Wednesday night a rear light and one of the Head lights packed up. Fortunately not too much of a problem to sort out the next day as I try to have spare bulbs most of the time. A bit of a pain on some of the very dark country roads but thats life.<\/p>\n

So far so good. On our trip back we decided not to bother about an overnight stop for convenience and cost. That means the trip from door to door including the UK section was just on 600 miles so a bit of a stretch but I did not feel to bad by the time I rocked up to my very humble abode about 22:30
\n\"\"We also got some sad news that a good friend of ours Robbie who played bass in\u00a0Elephant Shelf<\/a>\u00a0 for many years\u00a0has had a brain hemorrhage and subsequent stroke affecting speech and movement on one side and memory problems. Its likely that recovery will be a slow process. Its always a shock when someone younger than yourself is stricken with this sort of ill health. It is likely that any return to them being a professional musician may take a long time or may not be possible, but we are all keeping our fingers crossed for the best possible outcome and they are receiving good care and support from family and friends.<\/p>\n

There is the possibility of an exciting music project in early 2018 which may be a very positive thing if it happens so fingers and toes crossed.\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
